Mon 22nd Auchtertool Kirk, 7pm concert
A musical journey from Early music to today’s jazzy rhythmic arrangements: from Monteverdi, Praetorius, Bruckner to funky contemporary pieces (Lionel Haas, Petersen, Chris Woods, Svoboda). Truly Music without borders.
The music covers a wide area, sharp-edge modern, popular to ancient - all equally competently played, a pure delight!. Also some traditional tunes are included, and the opportunity to sing with the band.
Part of their concert tour through England and Scotland, a unique chance to hear.
This is a band of a kind of their own.
Not a Big Band, nor a Jazz band, not Miners band nor Salsa Combo, Renaissance Music Consort, nor Salvation Army Band. They are none of these but uniquely unite elements of all of these. And it’s a real joy to listen to them, a musical experience.
Despite them not usually taking part in competitions, they won the title of the best “small orchestra” of their kind in Germany, winning the national biannual contest there in the year 2000 and other prices since.
Yet they are a group of non-professional musicians of all age groups, from all kinds of backgrounds. Supported by churches back home, they communicate the Christian faith in a fresh way through their inclusive music-making.
They are led and directed by Traugott Baur, an experienced professional musician.
This summer they have travelled from Germany in order to tour through England and Scotland - to make music, to make friends, to see the land, to meet people.
